2016 Speaker Information
Long-Distance Swimming Champion, Sports Broadcaster
At the age of 64, Diana fulfilled her dream of completing the 110-mile swim from Cuba to Florida. At the finish, she told the world: “I have three messages. One is we should never ever give up. Two is you are never too old to chase your dreams. And three is it looks like a solitary sport but it takes a team.” In 2010 Diana began her quest of swimming from Cuba to Florida, a task she had failed to finish 30 years earlier; she tried two more times before completing the swim in 2013. Her world-record long-distance swims include circling Manhattan and crossing between the Bahamas and Florida. In addition to broadcasting, she is recognized as a passionate and entertaining public speaker.
